A key to leadership development is to fully understand how to apply your greatest talents and strengths in your work as a school or division leader. Decades of Gallup research reveal that your best opportunity for success is to recognize and develop your dominant talents and strengths.
School leaders who participate in this session will need to register by June 10.
- Once you have registered, you will receive an email containing a code that will allow you to access the online CliftonStrengths assessment.
- The assessment will take about 45 minutes to complete.
- The results will be available immediately.
- You will need to review the results, make a copy, and bring the Top 5 report with you to the session.
Your report will include:
- Your Top 5 CliftonStengths.
- A guide for using the report today and in the future.
- How your strengths connect and interact with each other.
- Action items you can implement immediately.
- A practical outline to use your dominant strengths.
- A guide to having conversations with others about your strengths.
- A link to Gallup Access where you can learn from Gallup’s library of articles, research, and videos.
This professional development/coaching session will require your active engagement and reflection. You will:
- Explore your top 5 strengths using Gallup’s process of Name It/Claim It./Aim It.
- Examine all 34 strengths so you can have conversations with others around strengths as well as being able to identify the strengths of others.
- Explore how your top 5 strengths interact with each other.
- Identify those strengths that are opposites of your Top 5.
- Identify the blind spots of your strengths (every strength has a blind spot and if you do not know what they are, a strength can be perceived as a weakness).
- Explore how your strengths fit within the four domains of leadership including strategic thinking, relationship building, influencing, and executing.
- Examine a leadership grid of team strengths and determine if such a grid would be helpful to you and/or your school or school division.
- Focus on how strengths can help you grow your team using the people you have.
